KC FARMS FOREST KIDS
“PLAY-LAUGH-LEARN-GROW”
When it comes to our key motto, play, laugh, learn and grow this phrase has a profound meaning and impact developmentally in a child.
Research has shown that when children spend time in a natural setting they had less aggression and anger issues. Emergent outdoor play promotes curiosity, creativity and critical thinking skills. Numerous studies have shown that children that have spent time interacting and exploring in a natural setting and environment have increased learning outcomes.
Play experiences forces the brain to make those neurotransmitter connections that are critical in a child’s development. Imaginative play is essential in a child’s development.
Outdoor play is also a way to embrace the happiness being physically active. Jumping, running, climbing, throwing and kicking balls, etc. require balance and build gross motor skills. These outdoor activities naturally help young children develop essential motor skills like coordination, agility, balance and dexterity. Children who are encouraged to explore outdoor environments will put their abilities to the test and constantly develop new skills through trial and error. When engaged in these type of activities children are creating a healthy habit of being active and developing a love for nature that can follow them throughout their lives.
Here at KC FARMS FOREST KIDS we incorporate the many elements of outdoor play such as recycled materials, plants, adventure/risk/challenge activities, natural materials and next year we will be introducing water play options.
The famous child psychologist Jean Piaget said, “Play is the work of children.” In the words of Fred Rogers, “Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning.”
Here at KC FARMS FOREST KIDS we invite everyone to come “PLAY, LAUGH,LEARN and GROW”….. ALL ARE WELCOME, COME JOIN OUR FAMILY FOR A DAY OF FUN….
